Ana Margarita is a Peruvian-Swiss photographer based in London. Born in Cusco and raised in Geneva, her practice moves between fashion and documentary, grounded in themes of identity, intimacy, and cultural memory.
Working with natural light and instinctive colour, Ana creates imagery that feels both grounded and poetic. Her personal and commissioned work reflects a strong emphasis on trust, collaboration, and storytelling.
Her project Donde Florecen Estas Flores was recently exhibited at the PhotoVogue Festival in Milan (2025), the 1014 Gallery in London with Thursday’s Child Club, and as her first solo show in Cusco, Peru (2025). She has worked with brands such as Karoline Vitto and Selasi, and was nominated for the Latin American Fashion Awards as emerging photographers of the year.
Ana’s work has been featured in Vogue Italia, AnOther Magazine, i-D, Atmos, and WePresent, and she was a winner of Portrait of Britain Vol. 7. She was also invited by It’s Nice That to speak about her practice at Nicer Tuesdays.
My work explores themes of identity, belonging, and heritage through photography that moves between fashion and documentary. With roots in Peru and a life shaped by living in Europe, I use image-making to reflect on both personal and shared experiences, often focusing on the stories people carry and how they choose to express them. I’m passionate about amplifying voices and stories that challenge dominant histories, and about creating work that honours nuance, complexity, and cultural depth.
I’m drawn to natural light, simple setups, and a quiet, intentional way of working. I want the people I photograph to feel comfortable, present, and seen. Whether the project is personal or commissioned, I approach it with care, curiosity, and attention to detail. Research, especially visual and image-based, is a key part of how I build and shape narratives.
