Alejandro Basterrechea moved to the UK in 2010 and started studying photography at Edinburgh College, developing his interest and passion for this art form while travelling. Originally from Argentina, he enjoys how photography can connect different cultures and voices and gives the opportunity to express himself. He has worked for several companies as freelance before concentrating in his own art practice and recently released his first photo-book Lessons in Solitude.

I am a freelance art photographer based in Edinburgh, U.K. I have been working with photography for almost 10 years. My passion for this medium began while travelling around Europe and North America. I am interested in the cultural and historical aspects of societies, adopting a simple visual language to communicate and document our environment.
